The plan of the school building was prepared by Sri Surya Kant Patel from Baroda,
a leading architect of India and the construction has been carried out under his
supervision. The plan of the school is a unique one. It provides for a spacious
school building, play grounds and gardens.
The main building has three separate blocks which house the Junior, Middle and Senior
classes. There is an open courtyard in the middle of each block, and open-to-sky
spaces between rooms. Gardens with colorful flowers and a lush green lawn make the
environment healthy & pleasing.
Hexagonal shape of the well-illuminated and ventilated classrooms ensures minimum
distance between the teacher and the taught. The School has fully equipped Physics,
Chemistry, Biology, Computer, I.T., Biotechnology, Social Science, Maths and Language
labs. In addition we have Junior Science lab for classes V to VIII.
We are using multimedia aids for teaching regular topics of Science, Maths & Social
Studies from I to XII classes for which teachers are trained to prepare their own
lesson plans as also use available capsules.
Grounds/courts for Football, Basketball, Tennis and Kho-Kho have been developed.
The Sports Complex has been constructed in order to house an Indoor Stadium cum
Auditorium as well as provide facilities for indoor games like Badminton, Table
Students of age group 3 1/2 to 9 1/2 years (Jr.Mont. to class IV) have their classes
in Sri Sathya Sai Bal Mandir. The rooms are bright and colorful. Pre-school children
use Montessori apparatus for the activities and make use of the open green lawns
for outdoor play. The children like their glittering dining hall and the hot food,
which is cooked for them there only in a departmentally run mess. A children's park
with slides, see-saws, swings and other playthings provides recreational facilities
to young children.
Junior Science Lab, a fully equipped Counsellor's room & library for Bal Mandir

programmes for classes III & IV has been provided at Bal Mandir.
