This institution was founded on 21st July 1980 with a meagre strength of 70 students. It was started by Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and has ever since been a non-proprietary, non-profit educational body. It is affiliated to CBSE, New Delhi and is widely recognised for its progressive approach and commitment to excellence. Strong in tradition, it has evolved as a matrix of networking between a number of Sathya Sai schools in India. Today, it holds a capacity of almost 3000 students who stand a class apart in the society.

The founder Principal was 'Badi Teacher' Ms. Maitreyi Padmanabhan an eminent educationist and recipient of President's award, followed by another stalwart in education Mr. Madhav Ganesh Paranjape who continues to inspire and guide us even today as the Director of the institution. Till date the school has been under the guidance of many accomplished and erudite principals.
